Tips & Tricks

Having a tough time with the game? Here are some helpful hints to give you the edge:

1: Speed is the best upgrade....not always-- Although being faster than your opponent is usually the best thing to be in battle, having too much speed will present an "over-sensitivity" when trying to line up those "hard to position" jumps. This is amplified on smaller circles. You can't always take many attempts to line up jumps when being hounded by enemies, or when sitting on a spike sphere.

2:Know thy enemy....'s location-- There are many ways to find enemies that don't apear on screen. When first starting a level, you may find it helpful to press "C" which drags the camera out a distance of 3 times the normal view. This can help you spot enemies and circles previously hidden, but can make certain traps ( namely those damn 3 holed spikes! ) near impossible to see until it's too late. There's also an enemy counter at the top of the H.U.D next to the score counter. Holding down the "up" button for a few seconds ( if not within jumping distance to a circle ) will shift the camera up for a higher view.

3:The all powerful hook has a weakness--Even though it's a bitchn' weapon, the grapple hook can be influenced by larger circle's gravitational force. While the hook usually works, sometimes it won't on larger circles. Just know if you have an option to use it, you may be better off on smaller circles.

4:Blue enemies are pussies--So it's not the biggest secret if you've played the game, but yes, the blue guys are timid, and will only fight if someone attacks them on their circle first. So if you are bombarded with enemies and want one less body in the fray, leave these guys for last.

5:Some rules can be broken--Kills only constitute as a stab in the back, right? Well, no, not always. When you see 2 fighters locked in head-on combat, if you can sneak up and kill one, then plow forward and hit the the other, before they hit the ground again ( I can't stress that enough ), you can take them out head-on.Same goes for jumping between circles. If you land on a fighter ( or they land on you! ) the guy at the bottom usually dies. This was intentional, due to those who tested the project always "camping out" at the bottom for an easy kill.

6:Mines scare fighters-- If you trap a fighter between a freshly laid mine and any other trap ( spikes for example ) they will turn and try their luck with the trap. If it's a leg trap, this can work out quite nicely for you. Remember, mine kills are worth 200 points, while normal "stabbing" kills are worth 500.

7: Setting up a perimeter-- A good strategy is todrop out many mines on different circles. That way, you can go killing, and chase back any fighters right into the mines. Try to lay them on double point circles, for obvious reasons.Remember to upgrade your power, so it will be easier to lay down a mine, and then"push" a fighter ass-backwards into one by repeatedly colliding head-on with them. The more power you have, the further they are bounced back.
